Minissha Lamba was first offered the role Dia Mirza

Actress Dia Mirza is fed up of men and it’s all after she did the film Acid Factory. The film has six men and Dia in lead roles. Being caught amongst six handsome men, instead of feeling great, Dia actually is frustrated of men because of their boy-talk.

Dia said, “I used to scream sometimes… Boys can talk a lot, and can be super distracting. They were always discussing the matches, or then car racing, and I used to constantly tell them to shut up and ask them to concentrate on their dialogues.”

According to source, Minissha Lamba was first offered the role Dia Mirza played in Kurbaan. But, she opted out because it demanded her to lock lips with co-star Vivek Oberoi. This is strange because with the bold actress recently created heat with her bikini act. However, Dia didn’t have any problem romancing Vivek, with whom she has worked previously in Dum.

“Horse ridding has actually been a childhood hobby. But, I didn’t know where I could pursue something like this in Mumbai until Lara mentioned it to me one day. It’s a beautiful way to start the day, you know,” says Dia.

Bollywood's biggest stars perform at NDTV - Toyota Greenathon

Bollywood biggest names came together to support NDTV and Toyota Greenathon - the biggest ever initiative to spread environmental awareness. The programme kicked off on Feb 7 and was live for 24 hours during which Bollywood bigwigs took the green pledge to save the environment and enthralled the audiences with their mind blowing performances.

Madhuri Dixit who is currently in aamchi Mumbai made sure that she could also play her part in supporting this noble cause. Needless to say, the Dancing Diva's performance left the audiences asking for more.

Govinda may have done his bit for his locality and community as a MP but this time as a citizen of the country, Chi Chi did his bit by gyrating to some of his chartbuster tracks and thereby promoting the cause to save the environment

The Greenathon commenced on all NDTV networks on Feb 7 at 7 pm IST. Some of the activities as a part of the initiative included round-the-clock clean up drives in Mumbai city and Yamuna Ghats in Delhi; a 24-hour marathon run by Milind Soman; and a musical extravaganza by renowned Bollywood stars. Among the many performers who sizzled on stage for this noble cause were Bollywood hotties Bipasha Basu and Malaika Arora Khan.

Next in line at this star-studded extravaganza were funny man Arshad Warsi and the beautiful Dia Mirza. While Arshad grooved on stage in his new look (with moustache et al) Dia looked her prettiest best. The acts were choreographed by Shiamak Davar and his troupe.

It was not just actors and actresses but also singers who pledged this cause. Sunidhi Chauhan who has given many a chartbusters in recent times gave a power packed performance along with other singers such as Shaan, Kailash Kher, and Sukhwinder Singh. All in all, a good time was had by everyone and the right message to save our environment was conveyed in the right way through this initiative.

What I want this New Year…

The New Year resolutions of Bollywood celebrities and the gifts they want in the year ahead were rather different from previous times as many were impacted by the 26/11 terror strikes. Tolerance among communities, spending more time with the family and becoming better human beings topped their wish list.

Mugdha Godse (pictured right): My resolution is to voice my opinion and to vote to be a better citizen. And I want to entertain audiences in good films. A great gift for all of us this New Year would be a good leader who can make Mumbai a better city.

Celina Jaitley: My New Year resolution is to work on my shortcomings as a human being. And the one gift that I'd want from my countrymen is not to forget 26/11.

Raveena Tandon: My resolution is not to get complacent but to work towards making a difference to our lives. The gift I want is from everyone to work as one community.

Dia Mirza: I don't save resolutions for the New Year. I believe if there's a need to do something, it should be done immediately. My wish for the New Year is to be part of an informed and motivated government that will ensure our security, peace, health and progress.

Paresh Rawal: This New Year I want to start yoga and get the great Gujarati writer Madhu Rai to write an exciting play for me.

Boman Irani: I've never made New Year resolutions. Resolutions are surrounded by guilt. I don't need that for the New Year.

Nandana Sen: New Year resolution? To spend as much time as possible with my loved ones. And my gift? Tolerance among people, communities and countries.

Sonu Sood: My New Year resolution is to start a trust or organisation in my mother's memory to help poor children study as my mother was a professor. And I'd like to get an award for one of my performances in 2008 as my New Year gift.

Aftab Shivdasani: I don't want to make a New Year resolution and I don't expect any gifts.

Amrita Arora: My resolution is to be a better person, tolerant and patient. And my gift? Happiness in abundance for me and my loved ones.

Himesh Reshammiya: My New Year resolution is to deliver the biggest hit of 2009. And the gift I want from god is to be super-creative in whatever I do.
