Karisma's tears motivated Nach Baliye 4 winners

TV actors Shaleen Bhanot and Daljeet Kaur, winners of the reality TV show "Nach Baliye 4", give credit for their success to their favourite judge, actress Karisma Kapoor, who burst into tears after seeing their flawed performance which in turn motivated them to do better.

“We ended up making our favourite judge cry. It was at that moment that we realised how closely Karisma (Kapoor) was attached to us. When she started crying, we didn't know what to do. After all it was because of something we did and she had actually cried for it. We will always cherish it for life,” Daljeet told IANS by phone from Mumbai.

Karisma cried after Shaleen and Daljeet's roller skates dance on one of the episodes. Their performance was adjudged amateur and not up to the duo's standard by judges Karisma, Arjun Rampal and Farah Khan.

Daljeet agrees that the performance might have been “visually dull”, but says dancing on skates was an achievement for her.

“It was for the first time that I wore skates. A lot of people skate in their childhood, but I had never tried it also and it was the same case with Shaleen. So while dancing with the skates, we couldn't move around much.

“Maybe that's what made the performance visually dull. But for me it was an achievement because even without any experience of skating, I pulled off the act without falling even once on the stage,” said Daljeet.

The actress started her small screen stint with “Kulvaddhu” and went on to do shows like “Chhoona Hai Aasmaan”, “Santaan” and a reality show “Saas Vs Bahu”. It was on the sets of “Kulvaddhu” that she met her partner Shaleen and now they have been together for nearly two years.

However, on the initial episodes of “Nach Baliye”, questions were raised on the authenticity of their relationship.

Explaining the goof-up, Daljeet said: “Actually Shaleen had once said that Daljeet is not my girlfriend. Both of us are basically very conservative. I personally don't like being told that I am somebody's girlfriend. We don't relate to such terminologies. We know we want to be together for the rest of our lives and we don't need any tag for that."

On being asked whether they are ready to take their relationship to the next level by tying the nuptial knot, she said that both of them are too involved with their win and also with their projects.

“We have not really sat down and spoken about anything. The win is still not sinking in,” she said.

The couple is currently rejoicing on winning the Rs.5 million cash and a car that they received as an award for “Nach Baliye”. Though they have split the cash between them, they have yet to decide who will keep the car.

“The car is for a couple and we are a couple. It doesn't matter who keeps it,” Daljeet said while adding that they are yet to receive the keys to the car.

Shaleen and Daljeet win Nach Baliye 4

TV actors Shaleen Bhanot and Daljeet Kaur emerged winners of the popular reality dance show "Nach Baliye 4" on a glitzy finale episode late on Sunday (Feb 1) and received the award from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

The couple pipped finalists Megha Gupta and Naman Shaw and took away the "Nach Baliye 4" trophy, a car as well as a cash prize of Rs.5 million.

Adding glitter to the show were Shah Rukh and actress Lara Dutta, who came to promote their forthcoming film "Billu Barber", releasing on Feb 13.

The finale saw performances by former participants of the show as well as judges Arjun Rampal and Karisma Kapoor as director, choreographer and co-judge Farah Khan looked on.

Kareena’s new home on hold

Construction work in Kareena Kapoor’s new home has come to a standstill. The handful of workers who were constantly seen hammering away at Kareena and her mother’s plus apartment in Khar have vanished and the house is under lock and key.

“Till Diwali last year we would see all three of them… Kareena, Karisma and Babita.. drop in to see their home and what the workers were doing. Often they would be accompanied by their interior designers but for the past couple of months none of them have come. In fact the workers have also left,” informs a source, “Karisma used to drop in at least once every day to check in on both the flats. Babita used to come often too. And Kareena who had a busy schedule all of 2008 would come as well whenever she was in town.

The rest of the flat owners have moved in or are getting the last touches done in this new construction but the Kapoors are no where to be seen. The Kapoors were expected to move into their new home at the start of 2009 but it doesn’t look like that now.

Residents in the building say that it looks like there has been issue with the people doing her home. Kareena had roped in Twinkle Khanna to do her home.

“Twinkle’s assistants would drop in to check the progress. But even they have stopped coming. At this point the house has been given a basic white wash. But all the other material is just lying inside. It has been locked up and no one is coming to check it. Currently Kareena’s is the only apartment which has no work going on,” informs the source.

Kareena’s and her mother Babita will live on the same floor but not in the same flat as Bebo. Karisma Kapoor will also move in with her daughter Samaira on the 10th floor of the same building. Saif too has bought himself a duplex in Bandra just a couple of lanes away from Kareena’s flat. The actor will begin work on his house in the coming months and will only move in early next year.

Kareena, family and friends go to midnight mass at St Andrews

Bebo and family attended Xmas mass at a different church, as Mt Mary was too crowded

Kareena Kapoor and her group couldn't attend the midnight mass at Mt Mary's church this year because of the heavy crowds. Instead they ended up going to another church in Bandra St Andrew's.

Bebo was accompanied by sister Karisma along with mother Babita and Saif Ali Khan. Kareena's best friend Amrita Arora and her fiance Shakeel Ladak, Dino Morea and Lara Dutta. Arbaaz and Malaika Khan (with their son Arhaan) and the Arora girls' parents were also there.

Kareena explains, "We had to go to St Andrew's as we couldn't get seats at Mt Mary. It was extremely crowded. Normally our driver goes and reserves some seats earlier, but this year he couldn't even do that. My mom has bad knees and she can't stand for long, so we went to St Andrew's. It was very quiet and peaceful there."

Amrita adds, "My family and I have always gone to St Andrew's church for midnight mass for Christmas."
After the mass, Kareena and the rest went back to her place for a huge Christmas feast which consisted of roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, jacket potatoes, plum pudding, meat and chicken dishes and marzipan sweets, kalkals and guava cheese as dessert.

Dino and Amrita with their partners went back to their homes for dinner. Later the three couples Malaika Arbaaz, Amrita Shakeel and Dino Lara headed to Aurus for Baba Diwan's party.

Kareena adds, "I have been binging on anything and everything. Diets are off for me now. When I go for my Alpine holidays I am not taking any diet chart with me. I am back to looking curvy and sexy and can eat anything till January 15 after which I resume shooting for Raju Hirani's 3 Idiots."

Karisma Kapoor, nicknamed "Lolo", born 25 June 1974 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India) is a National Film Award-winning popular Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films.

Making her film debut in 1991, Kapoor went on to become one of the most popular actresses of her generation. During her career years, she has been part of many commercially and critically successful films, Raja Hindustani being the most notable of them, as it was her biggest commercial success, and won Kapoor her first Filmfare Best Actress Award. She surprised critics and audiences with her performances in art films such as Fiza (2000) and Zubeidaa (2001), for which she earned a Best Actress and Best Actress (Critics) awards at the Filmfare ceremony. Karisma does not like to talk about her personal life but she has been romantically involved with Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan. She announced her engagement to Bachchan in October of 2002 on the 60th birthday of Abhishek's father, Amitabh Bachchan. Four months later in February 2003, they split up.

On 29 September 2003, she married industrialist Sanjay Kapur, CEO of Sixt India. In typical Kapoor tradition, Karisma was married at her grandfather, the late Raj Kapoor's home, R K Cottage. The couple opted for an hour-long Sikh ceremony.[10] The couple has one daughter named Samaira, who was born on 11 March 2005. After the birth of her daughter, there was considerable rift between her and her husband. The couple has subsequently patched-up.
